Cast iron (NORVELLE)
OREVIA cast iron is pre-seasoned. The seasoning builds with use and is not a synthetic non-stick coating.
Before first use
- Rinse with warm water and dry completely with a cloth.
- Heat on a low flame for a few minutes to remove any remaining moisture.
- Wipe a thin layer of cooking oil over the surface.
Cooking
- Heat gradually on a low to medium flame. Cast iron holds heat, so a high flame is rarely needed.
- Use a little oil, especially during the first few uses.
- Avoid cooking highly acidic dishes, such as tamarind or tomato-heavy gravies, for long periods until the seasoning has built up.
- Do not pour cold water into a hot pan.
Cleaning
- Clean while still warm, using hot water and a soft brush or scrubber. A small amount of mild dish soap can be used.
- Do not soak, and do not use a dishwasher.
- Dry immediately, then heat on a low flame for a minute.
- Wipe a thin layer of oil on the surface before storing.
Storage
- Store completely dry in a ventilated place.
- Place a paper towel between pieces when stacking.
- Do not store food in cast iron cookware.
If rust appears
- Scrub the rusted area until it is removed.
- Wash, dry and heat on a low flame.
- Apply a thin layer of oil and heat for a few minutes. Repeat until the surface looks even.
Darker patches and colour changes appear as seasoning develops. This is normal.

OREVIA iron cookware is uncoated. Its colour and surface change with use and regular care.
Before first use
- Follow the first-use instructions supplied with your product.

- Heat gradually on a low to medium flame.
- Use a little oil while cooking.
- Transfer food to another container after cooking; do not store food in iron cookware.

Triply stainless steel
Before first use
- Wash with warm water and mild dish soap, then dry.
Cooking
- Preheat on a low to medium flame before adding oil.
- Do not leave an empty pan on a high flame.
- When boiling water, add salt after the water is boiling.
Cleaning
- Dishwasher safe.
- For stuck-on food, soak in warm soapy water, then clean with a non-abrasive scrubber.
- Avoid steel wool and bleach-based cleaners.
Stains and marks
- White spots are mineral deposits from water. Wipe with a little vinegar diluted in water, then rinse and dry.
- A rainbow or bluish tint comes from heat. Clean with diluted vinegar or a paste of baking soda and water.
Storage
- Dry completely before storing.
